Concert in the rain

At the beginning of the EPF 2011 in Szentendre, Hungarian locals were sorry for the participants, thinking of the normally hot and sunny days of the period of the year. But all of us proved to be false. Since the festival started, we see rain every day. The organising committee is getting experienced in the rearrangement of the program. Aside the obvious technical difficulties, we are sorry that our guests cannot really enjoy the aesthetic beauty of the town. But, if there is something to learn from the festival participants, endurance should be. I have never heard complaint. On the contrary, I see only joy and happiness on the faces.

Now, get back to the events.
In the morning on Sunday, sport competitions took place according to the plan. The participant played basketball and petanque. The results were as follows:
Petanque:
1. Schifflange (Luxembourg), 2. Szentendre (Hungary), 3. Cantanhende (Portugal).
Basketball:
1. Schifflange (Luxembourg), 2. Cantanhende (Portugal) 3. Athlone (Ireland)

Street theatre was to come in the afternoon, but when a lovely clown entered the scene heavy rain started to fall. Some hesitated to run away, but finally everyone was forced to look for some shelter. An Italian group of young man did the same, but on their own way. They stormed a terrace of a nearby coffeehouse and immediately started to play their instruments. Does exist better way to survive heavy rain on the street than play music? I could hardly believe. I was sure that the people standing and sitting around thankfully thought the same.

Since the rain was constant the organisers decided to postpone the events of the rest of the day.
